Founded in 1992, Anthropologie is run by a small group of people dedicated to bringing the best of other cultures into our own. Our buyers spend well over half the year travelling through Europe, India and the Far East, combing through flea markets, antique shops and estate sales for inspiration. Once we develop a design, we carefully reproduce it in limited quantities for our customers. Everything we sell is exclusive to Anthropologie and unconditionally guaranteed. Never satisfied with the familiar, our buyers and designers are on a tireless quest for those simple objects that bring beauty to our daily rituals, deepen our experiences, and to put it simply – make life inspiring. Over the years, our stores have been home to such remarkable pieces as one of a kind hand-beaded and dip-dyed vintage cashmere cardigans; sandals hand-built from the wooden heels up with vintage tie material and embroidered buttons; and the first quilt ever printed with one hundred hand-cut blocks by artisans in Jaipur, India. The clothing, jewelry, and products for home that you’ll find in our stores and catalogs are always in flux. So is our world. Our hope at Anthropologie is to share with you in the breathtaking possibility of it all.

On April 11th, our Chelsea Market store had the pleasure of hosting Hollister and Porter Hovey of Hovey Design to celebrate the launch of their beautiful home décor book, Heirloom Modern (http://anthrpl.ge/17UJiGe). The stylish sisters mixed, mingled and signed copies of the sure-to-be bestseller. Here’s a look back at the evening’s festivities. For fellow Hovey fans, we’ll be hosting additional events with Hollister and Porter in Beverly Hills on May 9th and Kansas City on June 1st.
